The Growing Need for Everyone to Understand and Interpret Big Data

Big data is the term assigned to data sets that are too large or complex to be processed with conventional data processing methods. Big data is usually data running in the order of Exabyte’s and while in the past this was a phenomenon limited only to scientists studying meteorology or quantum mechanics, the invention of technologies like cookies and the advent of social media has meant that the size of data that needs processing has grown exponentially.

The gradual increase in big data that needs to be processed and analyzed means that businessmen and managers can no longer ignore the phenomenon of big data. This means that in a bid to educate themselves on the subject the business community has begun to look towards the internet trying to find big data tutorials and online guide videos on how to handle and process big data. While just a few years ago most companies had to rely on information management specialist companies, the advancement in open source software’s like Hadoop now means that companies need not look to the outside to service their big data needs.
Hadoop is a framework that uses the map reduce programming model for distributed computing. Map reducing being a programming model instead of a language itself means that it is a style of coding which can be done in almost any programming language. All that is needed for an average user to use Hadoop is a basic knowledge of a programing language be it Java, C++ or Python, whether the user gained his understanding of the language through an online tutorial video, a do it yourself book or through rigorous academic study at a university does not matter. What does matter however is a user’s understanding of the map reduce model and how the Hadoop framework functions.
Most companies that specialized in information management aptly reading market trends and recognizing the simplifications in the big data handling process have shifted their focus from providing information management to the teaching of information management so that companies can now manage most of their data processing needs in house.

Be it through courses taught at seminars, through online classes or simple tutorial videos on YouTube with the advancements in the Hadoop training bangalore platform the data management process has now become so simple that virtually anyone can learn how to do it. While it would not be surprising if within a few years mobile and computer applications that made data processing as simple as the use of a calculator on our mobile phones or personal computers for now anyone who wishes to manage big data has learn how to do so relying heavily on community discourse and tutorials.
